There are a fascinating amount of colours to be seen in a face! A trip to Amsterdam, seeing Rembrandt, Rubens, Frans Hals and Vincent van Gogh amongst others, inspired me to go deeper into the study of painting skin.

I like to work with fairly small studies, so that it does not take too long and so that I can’t get lost in detail. This one is less than 10x10cm.
